MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Midnight Murder Club's minimum PC specs are:
- CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 / AMD Radeon RX 480
- RAM: 8GB
- Dedicated VRAM: 3GB
- Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
Running on a machine below the minimum specs, or without up-to-date graphics drivers, may lead to performance or stability issues in the game.
ERRORS ON STARTUP
If you see a graphics error message when starting the game, the game's Vulkan renderer failed to start properly. The lines in the error message can help you identify the potential causes. In the example below, the CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM, and OS all meet the minimum specs, but the graphics driver appears to be out of date (generally more than a year old). Updating your graphics drivers may help fix the issue.
Note: If your machine has multiple GPUs from different vendors, for example an AMD Radeon integrated GPU and an NVIDIA discrete graphics card in a laptop, you should update both graphics drivers. Sometimes out-of-date drivers for one GPU can prevent the game from starting, even if the GPU drivers for another are up-to-date.

DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN
In addition to possible errors on startup, the game may display a screen after launching the game that indicates your PC is below minimum specs or not up-to-date.

Midnight Murder Club will reduce quality settings to minimum to have a better chance at low-end systems play the game, but that may not be enough, and in some configurations the game can run out of memory or experience extreme performance issues.
DURING GAMEPLAY
When playing, you might see one of the following icons on the left side of your screen:
The wifi symbol with an exclamation point appears when you have a poor connection to the game server. As a player-to-player hosted game, this can happen for a variety of reasons, including if the game server is far away, or if you're playing on a wifi network with low signal strength. Sometimes switching to a wired network connection can help.

The speedometer with an exclamation point appears when frame times are taking longer than expected. Make sure your computer meets the games minimum specifications at the top of this page. Poor performance can also be made worse by a poor network connection.

NETWORK ERRORS
When Midnight Murder Club encounters an unexpected network issue, it will show a notification in the upper right corner of your screen:

For a more serious network error, the game will show a dialog box with more info:

In either case, any error code numbers you see can tell you something about what issues your game is encountering:
ERROR CODES STARTING WITH 0
- What it means: Network connections were lost between you and the game server.
- Common causes: Your network went offline, the host player's network went offline, or if we're upgrading MMC's backend network services.
- Possible fixes: Check your network connection.
ERROR CODES STARTING WITH 1
- What it means: Failed to sign in to the network services used by the game.
- Common causes: It took longer than 15 seconds to authenticate, or your PSN or Steam credentials are no longer valid. On PC, this also may mean that PSN failed to install properly.
- Possible fixes:
- Confirm that you're able to sign in to PSN outside the game by visiting https://www.playstation.com and clicking the "Sign In" button.
- On PC, confirm Steam is running.
- On PC, try deleting your local save data to force the full sign-in process to run the next time the game is launched. To do this, use the Windows Key+R shortcut and enter "appdata". This will open the Explorer. Navigate to the "Local" folder and then the "MidnightMurderClub" folder. Delete the "save" folder.
- On PC, you can try manually installing the PSN PC runtime. To do that, go to the folder on your computer where the game is installed. From Steam with the game selected, click on the gear icon, select "Manage", and then "Browse local files" to get there. From there run PsPcSdkRuntimeInstaller.msi to initiate a manual installation of the runtime.
- On PC, this error may occur when running Cheat Engine or trying to launch the game within VMWare or QEMU.
ERROR CODES STARTING WITH 5
- What it means: An error establishing a UDP connection to another player.
- Common causes: Strict firewalls and NAT configurations can prevent UDP traffic between players.
- Possible fixes: Check firewall and NAT settings on your local network. The game sends traffic on UDP ports 3074-3174.
ERROR CODES STARTING WITH 14
- What it means: An error in the lobby system used to group players.
- Common causes: If the lobby is already full (6 players), if the lobby is no longer joinable (the players are in a match), or the lobby no longer exists (all players left).
- Possible fixes: Try to join another lobby.
GPU INJECTOR & TUNING TOOL ISSUES
We have seen some versions of ReShade, the post-processing injector, and GPU Tweak III, the GPU tuning tool, cause the game to crash. If you're experiencing instability and are using an injector or tuning tool, consider disabling or updating it to see if it helps with stability.
VOICE CHAT ISSUES
If you can't hear others talking, check the communication setting on your PSN account. In the "Communication Restricted" mode, voice chat is disabled.
If you can hear others but they can't hear you:
- Confirm that your microphone works outside the game
- In the Options > Audio menu, verify the right Audio Input Device is selected, Microphone Sensitivity is high enough that you see the Mic Test bar move when you're speaking, and Voice Input is set to Always On.
