Patch 1.1

Friends and Frenemies,  

Thank you for all the feedback you’ve been giving us as we work to improve during Early Access. We’re stoked by the response to the game, and we’ve got even more weirdness coming your way, starting with this patch.

And now, a message from our Game Director, Eric:

With this next batch of Wildcards we were looking to make the game a little weirder. We have cards that add light, cards that add sound, cards that add traps, and cards that completely change the game rules into a brand-new game mode. Let us know which combinations are your favorites.

You heard him! We're adding more Wildcards! 

Here's what you can expect:

Infection

Classic FFA, but when you shoot someone they join your team. Recruit everyone (by force) and the round ends. Kill the most people to win.  

Light Speed

Sprinting with your flashlight on makes you run with light speed. Get it? Light… Speed?

Floaty Jump

Soar to new heights, explore the ceilings… get the cobwebs while you’re up there, huh?

No Doors

You thought the mansion was drafty before!

Restock Vendors

Toys for everyone! Vendors Restock when the final toy is dispensed from them.

Bodily Malfunction

Someone let the team put a fart card in the game? And they didn’t call it Silent But Deadly? Are you kidding me?

No Bleedout

You’ll spend less time on the ground crawling after your teammates, but that doesn’t mean you can’t die.

1st Floor Only

Maximillian Wormwood is doing some renovations on the 2nd floor so you can only play on the 1st floor. Good for games with fewer players.

Will O Wisps

Floating Wisps move through the mansion, passing through doors and lighting up rooms.

Haunted Doors

Hey! Who opened that door?  

Mannequin Mayhem

Six tricky mannequins are added to the mansion. Don’t let their flashlights fool you!

Bear Trap Trouble

Twenty Bear Traps are spawned in random locations around the mansion. Have fun walking in the dark.

Headhunters Update!

Headhunters matches are now longer, giving the Hunters more time to look for skulls! Less panic, more crushing.

Bots Now Use Toys

What could be more terrifying than bots with killer instincts with a Molotov? Now they’ll interact with vendors and arm themselves with weapons and toys. Hooray?

Player Reporting

Players who are repeatedly reported for toxic behavior will have their voice chat interrupted. It’s like a silencer… for your face.

Bug Fixes

Headhunters

  • Only one Headhunter will be counted when destroying skulls at the same time as another player in the Headhunters game mode.
  • Fixed: Skull counts now match for all players on the results screen.
  • Thief in the Night
    • Safes now will always contain skulls in the Thief in the Night game mode, as intended.
    • Skulls no longer go invisible after you’re revived.

Grouping / Parties / Matchmaking

  • Fixed various issues with party rematch and players crashing when attempting to rematch
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to start a match because a ghost host was not present in the lobby.
    • Look, when the ghosts get restless, they like to cause issues.
  • Fixed an issue where players would not hear the audio cue when someone joined their public lobby. Now you know who can hear you screaming.
  • Matches will now start automatically when selecting rematch with a lobby full of grouped and solo players.
  • Added various improved capabilities around matchmaking

UI

  • Purchasing the full game from Guest Pass no longer triggers error messages.
  • Fixed some errors where the UI would overlap.

Error Messages

  • We have solved some issues which may have caused some players to see a 1.49 error. If you continue to see this error, please let us know (logs are useful here)!

Wildcards

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to view and select cards in the Wildcards game mode.
  • The Fire Trap sound effects will now play when activated.
  • The “Kill Stealer” card will now only affect players on opposite teams.

Toys

  • Fixed an issue where sometimes in-progress boosts would still be active after reviving.

Gameplay

  • Players are no longer able to throw Light Grenades through closed doors just by standing near them. You’ll have to open the door.
  • Improved clipping and eliminated places where players were getting stuck in the furniture.
  • The knife animation is now more obvious, so you know when you’ve been shivved.
  • The reload animation will now always play when pressed
  • Only one teammate will now be able to revive a player at a time

Audio / Visual

  • Improved sound effects for players when walking, jumping, running and shooting into the floor.
  • Improved various collision sound effects and VFX
